/Full-time Professional Master in Architecture/

The Full-time Professional Master’s Program in Architecture seeks to cultivate high-level professionals with career background and international perspective, who grasp the basic theories and methods of architecture and related fields, have strong design ability and professional accomplishment, are competent to work in architectural design, architectural history research, architectural heritage preservation, building technology design and architectural project management. This program provides individuals with the potential to become outstanding architects or managers. The program encourages the integration of outside professional work and curriculum, supported by an advisor system composed of a school teacher and an external instructor. The program lasts 2 years (3 years can also be allowed in special circumstances), at the end of which a Master’s Degree in Architecture is a0warded. A minimum of 36 credits is required, in which a minimum of 23 must be professional courses directly related to this degree. A thesis design project and a complete written thesis of at least 20,000 characters are also required.

/Full-time Professional Master in Urban and Rural Planning /

The full-time professional master’s degree in urban and rural planning aims to cultivate high-level professionals in the field of urban and rural planning, who grasp the principles and methods of contemporary urban and rural planning and research, have the knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, understand relevant theories and development in urban sociology, urban economics, urban geography, urban ecology and environmental science, and other related disciplines, and have the knowledge of the application of computers, GIS, and other new technologies in urban planning. Graduates will gain the practical experience and competency to work in urban planning and design, and urban planning management. This program adopts an advisor system composed of a school teacher and an external instructor. The program lasts 2 years (3 years can also be allowed in special circumstances), at the end of which a Master’s Degree in Urban and Rural Planning is awarded. A minimum of 34 credits is required, in which a minimum of 21 must be professional courses directly related to this degree. A thesis design project and a complete written thesis of at least 20,000 characters are also required. 

/Full-time Professional Master in Landscape Architecture/

The Full-time Professional Master in Landscape Architecture Program aims to cultivate high-level professionals in the field of landscape architecture, who can both work for the nation’s needs and possess an international perspective. This program adopts an advisor system composed of a school teacher and an external instructor, and encourages interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary training. The program generally lasts 2-3 years, at the end of which a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture is awarded. A minimum of 35 credits is required, in which a minimum of 29 must be professional courses directly related to this degree. A thesis design project and a complete written thesis of at least 20,000 characters are also required.

/Master in Engineering in Urban and Rural Planning/

The program aims to cultivate high-level professionals in the field of urban and rural planning, who grasp the principles and methods of contemporary urban and rural planning and research, understand relevant theories and development in urban sociology, urban economics, urban geography, urban ecology and environmental science, and other related disciplines, and have the knowledge of the application of computers, GIS, and other new technologies in urban planning . Graduates will be competent to work in urban planning and design, urban planning management and scientific research. Based on an advisor system, this program encourages interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary training. The degree generally lasts 2-3 years, at the end of which a Master in Engineering Degree is awarded. A minimum of 29 credits are required, in which a minimum of 22 must be professional courses directly related to this degree. A complete written thesis is also required.

/Master in Landscape Architecture/

The program aims to cultivate high-level professionals in the field of landscape architecture, who have comprehensive problem-solving abilities and a high level of academic knowledge, are able to work as a researcher, teacher or manager independently, and possess the potential to pursue a higher degree in the field of landscape architecture. Based on an advisor system, this program encourages interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary training. The degree generally lasts 2-3 years, at the end of which a Master inEngineering Degree is awarded. A minimum of 30 credits are required, in which a minimum of 23 must be professional courses directly related to this degree. A complete written thesis is also required. 

/Master in Engineering in Landscape Architecture (Practice Oriented) /

The Project Oriented Master in Engineering in Landscape Architecture Program aims to cultivate high-level professionals in the field of landscape architecture, who have comprehensive problem-solving ability and good design ability. Graduates will possess the potential to become outstanding designers, planners, researchers, educators, and senior managers in landscape design. Based on an advisor system, this program encourages interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary training. The degree lasts 2 years, at the end of which a Master in Engineering Degree is awarded. A minimum of 35 credits are required, in which a minimum of 29 must be professional courses directly related to this degree. A thesis design project and two working papers are also required. 

/Professional Master in Landscape Architecture/

The Master in Landscape Architecture Degree aims to cultivate high-level professionals who have good design ability and good knowledge of related theories, have comprehensive problem-solving ability in real projects, and have the potential to become excellent designers and senior managers in the field of Landscape Architecture. Based on an advisor system, this program lasts 5 years or less, at the end of which a Master in Landscape Architecture Degree is awarded. A minimum of 29 credits are required, in which a minimum of 20 must be professional courses directly related to this degree. A thesis design project and a complete written thesis are also required. 

/Master in Engineering in Building Environment and Energy (HVAC)/

The Master in Engineering in Building Environment and Energy Program aims to cultivate high-level professionals who are competent to do scientific research, education, and specialized technical or managerial jobs, and possess the potential to become excellent teachers, scientific researchers, R&D staff, project managers and senior managers in the field of Building Environment and Energy. Based on an advisor system, this program encourages interdisciplinary or cross-disciplinary training. The degree lasts 2 years, at the end of which a Master in Engineering Degree is awarded. A minimum of 25 credits are required. A complete written thesis is also required.

/Master in Fine Arts/

The Master in Fine Arts Program lasts 2-3 years, at the end of which a Master’s in Arts Degree is awarded. More details can be found in the Tsinghua University School of Art and Design Master in Fine Arts training program.

/Master in Engineering in Building and Civil Engineering/

The Master in Engineering in Building and Civil Engineering Program aims to cultivate high-level professionals who have good design ability and good knowledge of related theories, have comprehensive problem-solving ability in real projects, and have the potential to become excellent architects, planners and senior managers in the field of Landscape Architecture. Based on an advisor system, this program lasts 5 years or less, at the end of which a Master in Engineering Degree is awarded. A minimum of 30 credits are required. A thesis design project and a complete written thesis are also required.

/Doctor in Engineering in Architec-ture/

The Doctor in Engineering in Architecture Program aims to cultivate innovative academics with international perspective in the field of architecture, who keep up with the forefront of academic development, have a solid grasp of basic theories and specialized knowledge, have the ability to innovate in interdisciplinary scientific research, and have the ability to do high-level scientific research, teaching, and innovative design and project management independently. This program adopts an advisor system, and a deputy advisor as well as an instruction group if needed. The program includes both an ordinary program path (beginning doctorate study after receiving master’s degree) anda direct program path (linked master’s and doctorate program beginning after receiving bachelor’s degree). A Doctor in Engineering Degree is awarded at the end of study. The ordinary program generally lasts 3 years, a minimum of 13 credits is required, in which a minimum of 4 must be professional courses directly related to this degree. The direct program generally lasts 5 years, a minimum of 33 credits is required, in which a minimum of 23 credits must be professional courses directly related to this degree. A complete written thesis is also required for both types of the program.

The program includes both an ordinary program path (beginning doctorate study after receiving master’s degree) and a direct program path (linked master’s and doctorate program beginning after receiving bachelor’s degree). A Doctor in Engineering Degree is awarded at the end of study. The ordinary program generally lasts 3 years, a minimum of 10 credits is required, in which a minimum of 1 must be professional courses directly related to this degree.
