This programme provides an encompassing platform to develop students’ foundational knowledge about theoretical principles and technological approaches of design and, more importantly, their design thinking and critical thinking skills through experiential and project-based learning.
The interdisciplinary curriculum is anchored by a set of progressive design research studios and a series of theory and technology courses on urban space intervention. At the same time, it also provides ample rooms (the yellow, orange and beige components in the diagram below) for students to customise their studies, applying knowledge and technologies in projects of their own design.
With this curriculum, students may choose to graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering after four years’ study or continue one more year to complete the full training of the programme with a professional degree, Bachelor of Architecture.
